The type of glass used, and the thickness of that glass, depends greatly upon the location and application of the balustrade (internal/external) and whether the glass panel is a structural part of the balustrade or not. Structural glass is tempered / laminated glass, and is significantly thicker than non-structural glass. If the balustrade uses posts & handrails as supporting elements, then the glass is classed as infill, not structural, therefore a narrower thickness of glass may be used.
There are a host of installation systems that can be used to erect commercial glass balustrades, depending upon the final design or appearance you wish to achieve. This may involve posts, channels or hidden fixings but may vary the final price.
